附:报告人简介
Stefan Mecking received his undergraduate and graduate education at RWTH Aachen, where he was awarded a Ph.D. degree with Wilhelm Keim for work on catalytic carbonylations in 1994. After a postdoctoral stay with Maurice Brookhart in Chapel Hill, North Carolina he joined the Hoechst Company in Frankfurt as a project leader. He moved to the University of Freiburg in late 1998, and concluded his Habilitation in Macromolecular Chemistry there in 2002. Since 2004 he has been a full professor at the University of Konstanz.
Honors and awards include a Feodor-Lynen-Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation, the BASF Catalysis Award, the Otto-Roelen-Medal, a Chemiedozenten-Stipend of the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie, and the Karl Ziegler-Guilio Natta Lectureship. His research on functional-group tolerant polymerization catalysis addresses polymerization and deactivation mechanisms, the generation of crystalline and luminescent nanoparticles, and conversion of renewable resources.
