报告摘要:Development of sustainable materials is essential for future growth of the chemical industry. He will describe how to integrate design principles, enzyme discovery, pathway optimization and bioprocess scale-up to biosynthesize carboxylic acids, esters, and branched lactones. This comprehensive strategy not only enables new chemical functions in living cells, but also provides renewable approaches to industrially relevant products for a broad range of applications. For example, they have developed a green route to poly-methyl methacrylate, and the first scalable family of mechanically tunable bioderived polyesters.
